How I write
I write my texts together with AI. I'd rather say that upfront, because I think you should know how something you read from me came about.
What AI does for me varies per text. Sometimes it's nothing more than a check for spelling and grammar. Sometimes I use it to spar: I put half an idea on the table, let it push back, sharpen what I actually want to say, and only then start writing. And sometimes I write a text entirely myself and then have it restructured, because the order doesn't work or because I'm using four hundred words for something that fits in two hundred.
What AI does not do for me is decide what it says. The content is mine. The message is mine. The vision and the opinion are mine. When I take a position, it's my position, not that of a model reproducing averages from the internet. A language model has no experience, no stake and no opinion. I do.
I read every text myself, start to finish, and edit it myself before it goes live or gets sent. What isn't right comes out. What doesn't sound like me gets rewritten. I publish nothing I haven't read and approved myself.
I think that combination is the most honest answer to the question a lot of people have right now. Hiding AI use makes no sense to me. Pretending a text appears without effort makes no sense either. This is simply how I work: my thinking, my judgement, my responsibility, with a tool that makes me faster and sharper.
